The African Centre believes that its current usage has significantly widened in scope, and has disturbing political and ethnic undertones, highlights Sudan’s lack of respect for its international commitments, and allows for children to be executed. Lack of fair trial guarantees and the admission of evidence obtained through torture further exacerbates usage of the death penalty. Full report >
